Pushing forward the frontier of Responsible AI through a human centered critical lens

Our Mission

Investigating trustworthy AI from a human centered critical computing lens, identifying gaps and risks in traditional “responsible AI” paradigms. This approach allows us to reimagine AI systems to ensure they are not only effective but also deeply aligned with the values and requirements of those who use them, building AI you can trust.

Our research philosophy

At MATRA, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) forms the foundation of our approach. HCI is a multidisciplinary field dedicated to studying how people engage with technology, how systems align with human needs, behaviours, and values. HCI empowers us to make unique insights into inefficiencies and inadequacies in responsibility, allowing us to bridge these gaps to make truly human-tailored solutions.
